ecently, a friend and I had marijuana possession charge on a camping camping trip. I rarely touch the stuff and thought a remote, empty campground would be a reasonable place to take the risk, but was wrong. Because of my job, I was terrified of what might happen (I really don't know much about these things.) My friend contacted several Lawyers and settled on Steve Karimi, because he had experience with the prosecutor and was willing to charge a very reasonable fee. When I first talked with Steve, I felt much better about my situation. He told me that I had a good chance of d a deferral or even dismissal based on my spotless record. He also told me that I probably wouldn't even need to appear in court, which was a relief as I live across the state from where I got in trouble. Mostly I just felt a huge sense of relief simply knowing that it was now out of my hands and a professional was handling it. Over the next couple months, Steve pushed my court date back a couple times and contacted me periodically to let me know what was going on. Eventually, after the Marijuana initiative passed, the prosecutor dropped my case. Even after my case had been dismissed, Steve was very helpful in answering some more of my questions about what, exactly, would show up on my record or be available to the public. Although it didn't end up being a very difficult case, I likely wouldn't have had the same results without Steve pushing our court dates back. I also feel confident that we would have at least gotten a deferral had the initiative not passed because that offer was already on the table from the prosecutor.
